Daryl and I talked about the cold weather coming our way and it's a great time for getting a pet for Seniors. It's someone for them to care for and it's a companion, there are many health benefits to having a pet including: lowering the risk of heart disease, lowering blood pressure, and reducing stress.

It's a program called sidekicks for Seniors, Animal Allies is offering no-fee adult cat adoptions and $50 off all dog and kitten adoptions to any adopter 60 years of age and older.

Daryl also reminded me it's Give To The Max Day, if you get on the website and give, it will be matched. Click here for more details

The Pet of the Week is Spunky is a wheaten-colored Lhasa Apso and Terrier mix who is 9 yrs old. Daryl says:

He came to us as a transfer from a different shelter and is now looking for a new loving home to settle into! Spunky loves going for walks and hanging out with his friends in his free time! He enjoys playing with stuffed toys and getting treats for being a 'good boy'! He has been neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. If you are interested in adoption, please visit Animal Allies at 4006 Airport Road or give us a call at 218-722-2110 for more information!
