The two-year Bong Bridge project is wrapping up for the completion of Year One.  The work will take a hiatus during the winter months and resume again in the spring of 2015.

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation were aiming for a November 1 opening date and it appears that the project is on track to re-open on Saturday.  However, they have suggested that it could re-open as early as the afternoon of Thursday, October 30 if work and weather cooperate.

As of this morning (October 30), it appeared that they were on track for that early opening date.  From my morning commute vantage point, it appeared that the crews were removing barricades and getting the bridge ready for traffic sooner than later.
