Living in the Twin Ports, we're blessed to have easy-access to the great outdoors;  Lakes, woods and a great trail system provide countless opportunities to enjoy the four seasons.  Now, one of those trails is seeing some improvements.

As part of the St. Louis River Corridor Initiative, crews with the City of Duluth have begun work to renew a part of the Western Waterfront Trail.  The six week project will focus on the part of the trail that passes between the Irving and Riverside neighborhoods.

The scope of the work will include removal of invasive plant species, replacing and regrading the gravel trail head, stormwater improvements - including culverts and bridges, shoreline/bank stabilization, upgrades for mobility, and restoration of the original 8-foot wide path.

Work along the St. Louis River Corridor is being made possible by a NOAA Coastal Grant of $100,000.  Click here to learn more.
