Grandma's Marathon weekend is upon us once again and for the first time since 2016, all the races are officially sold out. That means there will a lot of runners and spectators in the Duluth area to both participate and to run.

A key to the success of Grandma's Marathon weekend is all the volunteers who perform a variety of tasks and there still openings available for this weekend.

The biggest current need is for water station volunteers along the race course Saturday morning. The water stations are important for runners of both the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and Grandma's Marathon. As temps rise and fatigue sets in, a quick drink of water or a cold wipe from a wet sponge can do wonders.

Grandma's Marathon volunteers are not only crucial to the event, but it's a great way to spend time with family and friends and even make new ones.

There is a reason we are celebrating 45 years – it’s because of our amazing volunteers! People from all around the world know that when they come to Grandma’s Marathon, they’re going to get a very special experience.
