Vikings CJ Ham Hosting 2nd Annual Youth Camp In Hometown Duluth
CJ Ham is bringing his youth sports camp back again to his hometown of Duluth, MN. He announced the news on social media about how the 2nd annual youth camp will be held at Duluth Denfeld on July 17, 2021.
The CJ Ham Youth Camp will be open to 200 kids between the age of 5 and 13. It will take place on July 17 from 10am-2pm. There is a cost of $40, and all proceeds will go towards diversity scholarship opportunities in the Duluth area.
Each camper is promised a t-shirt for the day, lunch, and autograph from CJ Ham along with a photo opportunity.
According to the event site, each kid will receive one on one football training, along with learning about leadership and sportsmanship. There will also be talks about off-the-field situations and life lessons on how to be successful. CJ wants the camp to teach kids to believe in themselves.
Area coaches and football experts will assist in the camp training.
CJ Ham is a Duluth Denfeld graduate and played on the Hunters high school football team, graduating in 2011. He then went on to play college football for Augustana. Ham then went on as a walk on try out for the Minnesota Vikings. He was signed as a free agent and was only the 5th player from Augustana to make an NFL pro team. After switching to a full back position, he found himself on the team roster and earned a pro bowl appearance in 2019. He's proven himself to be a valuable full back on the Vikings offense.
