Former Duluth Denfeld football standout C.J. Ham has been signed off the practice squad to the active roster for the Minnesota Vikings. The move comes as one of two roster moves leading up to the Christmas Eve game between the Vikings and Packers. The other move is placing cornerback Mackensie Alexander on injured reserve.

With Adrian Peterson ruled out for the game this weekend, the team moved to bring Ham to the active roster; though it is unknown if he will see any playing time with Matt Asiata and Jerrick McKinnon both ahead of him on the depth chart.

Ham joined the Vikings during rookie camp on a tryout basis, and was signed to the practice squad after final roster cuts this season. During preseason play, Ham saw a fair amount of reps. Among those was a game agains the Bengals in which he led the team with 12 carries for 35 yards, which included a 10-yard touchdown run.

The Vikings take on the Packers at noon on Saturday, Christmas Eve, in Green Bay.
