Duluth Native CJ Ham Scores First NFL Regular Season Touchdown
Duluth native CJ Ham found himself in a new position with the Minnesota Vikings this season, shifting to fullback. Ham has been a preseason standout both last year and this year, finding the endzone a handful of times in late-game action. While he had found paydirt more than once in preseason action in his two years with the team, he had not scored a regular season touchdown in the NFL - until today.
In the third quarter in Pittsburgh with the Steelers leading 17-3, Dalvin Cook broke off a 26-yard run that fell just inches short of the endzone. The Vikings offense looked to Ham to finish off the drive. Ham's score marked not only the Vikings' first touchdown of the day, but also Ham's first career regular season touchdown in the NFL. Congrats CJ!
Following CJ's score today, he is now the third Duluth native to score an NFL touchdown. Local sports anchor Zach Schneider reports (via Twitter) that Ted McKnight and Pat Dunsmore are the two others from Duluth that have scored in the NFL.
