Valleyfair made the announcement Tuesday they will stay closed for the rest of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair’s General Manager, and Vice President told WCCO that it is for the safety of their guests and associates and that it was a hard decision, but had to be done to ensure the safety of everyone concerned. Mr. Rehnborg went on to say that Valleyfair will continue to work with health officials to make sure the park is safe for 2021.

Fox 21 is reporting that 2020 passes will be honored through the end of the 2021 season. Any passes purchased for this year will be honored for next year.

In a message published on the Valleyfair Website said that some of the things they are working on for the next year are:

  • Peanuts Celebration, a special event honoring the classic cartoons of Minnesota native Charles Schulz;
  • Corn Feast, the park’s longest-standing event featuring 30,000 lbs. of free corn on the cob and corn eating competitions; and
  • The new Lakeshore Landing event space, a new Corn Cart building where guests can watch corn roasting and popping through giant glass windows, and restroom renovations for the improved guest experience.

On the Valleyfair website they went on to say that 2020 season passes were going to be extended to 2021 but they were going to add a Pass Perks Loyalty Reward valid for purchases made in the park next season.

On the information page for Valleyfair, Day passes will be valid through September 6th, 2021. Also, Pre-K passes that were registered will be activated to be good through 2021. If you are an affected guest, Valleyfair says it will send an email with all the details.

Valleyfair says that season passes for next year will be available on September 8th, 2020.
