As Duluth Mayor Don Ness gets ready to wrap up his run as the lead government official of the Zenith City, members of his staff are starting their migration to "the next job".  One of those officials is Daniel Fanning, who recently served as the Director of Communications and Policy for the City of Duluth and the Mayor's office.  The University of Wisconsin-Superior recently announced that Fanning would assume the position of the Director of Communications and Government Affairs for the college - a position that has similarities to his previous one.

Fannning is an alum of the university and his appointment comes with high praise from Chancellor Renee Wachter:

"Daniel's expertise and experience will serve the university very well as we continue to build relationships with legislators, Regents, and local, regional and state constituencies."  "We are especially pleased to welcome a Yellowjacket back to campus."

Fannings first day on the job was June 29.
