Here Are Some Of The Best Places To Catch Live Music In The Twin Ports Area

We are very lucky here in the Northland to have many different places that offer the chance to see live bands in a variety of venues. Below is a list of the most popular places to check out and have some fun supporting the local music scene.

Blush: 18 North 1st Avenue West, Duluth, MN

A community-based art gallery, and intimate music venue with a full bar. Make sure to check them out as one of the participating venues for the Homegrown Music Festival.

R.T. Quinlan's: 220 West Superior Street, Duluth, MN

R.T. Quinlan's has been a staple in Duluth for over 30 years. Known as the best local bar that never sleeps the bar prides itself on being a friendly local bar where you can hang your hat after a long day of work and enjoy an ice-cold beer with top-notch service and great local music.

The Rathskeller: 132 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN

Located below Duluth's Old City Hall building you will find this secret speakeasy, enter off Michigan street under the red light where you can enjoy handcrafted cocktails, fine whiskey, and 8 taps of beers, including Fitger's Brewhouse craft beers and live music.

Blackwater Lounge: 231 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN

Black Water Lounge is Duluth’s premiere martini lounge located downtown in the historic Greysolon building on Superior Street. Featuring live jazz music, elegant martinis, and classic cocktails along with delicious food.

Sacred Heart Music Center: 201 West Fourth Street, Duluth, MN

Sacred Heart Music Center is a historic music venue and recording studio in downtown Duluth located in a historic cathedral. The music center is home to concerts, and weddings and also supports music programs for children in the community.

Rex Bar: 600 East Superior Street Duluth, MN (Lower Level Fitger's Brewery Complex)

The Rex Bar is located in the basement of Duluth Fitger's Brewery Complex.  They pride themselves on serving ice cold drinks along with 20 different beers on tap. They are now open Thursday-Sunday at 6 pm.  Summertime is the best down at the Rex Bar, with their outside patio, with the best view in town!! Known for great best live music and if you want to play games they have got a ton of them to keep you occupied!

Powerhouse Bar: 423 3rd Avenue, Proctor, MN

The Powerhouse Bar in Procter is a large venue that attracts customers from all over the Twin Ports. Live music, bingo, and home to many special events like bike nights. They are a full-service bar and serve food.

Zeitgeist Restaurant & Bar: 222 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN

Zeitgeist is a nonprofit arts and community development organization. It is made up of many departments including a restaurant and bar, a theater, showing of films and live music.

Gopher Bar and Grill: 402 North Central Avenue, Duluth, MN

The Gopher Bar and Grill is a friendly neighborhood bar that always has great food and drink specials and lots of live music of all varieties. I have seen many bands there and the staff was always really nice and quick to make sure you did not sit too long without a drink.

Keyboard Lounge: 224 3rd Avenue, Proctor, MN

The Keyboard is a fun neighborhood bar with special theme nights like 90's throwback, live music, and everyone's favorite Karaoke. If you are in the Procter area make sure to stop by where they pride themselves as "the first bar to be open and the last to close!"

Caddy Shack Indoor Golf & Pub: 2023 West Superior Street, Duluth, MN

The Caddy Shack has it all with an Indoor HD Golf facility with a bonus HD Laser Shot Shooting Simulator - ALL in semi-private sim bays! They have a full bar, 16 different taps, food, and a big stage to watch live music. Not a bad seat in the house and the staff are super friendly.

The Other Place Bar And Grill: 3930 Calvary Road, Duluth, MN

The Other Place Bar And Grill is tucked away off Woodland Avenue but people from all over Duluth know it is a great place to meet up with friends and family. Their food is delicious and on any given weekend day you will see the parking lot full from morning until night. Great place to enjoy live music with a huge main room and not a bad seat in the house.

Reef Bar: 2002 London Road in Duluth, MN

The Reef Bar is an East End of Duluth staple. Smack dab on London Road it is hard to miss this gem. A large bar that seems to go back blocks they do not serve food but allow you to you bringing in your own or they have chips and free popcorn. The very back room of the bar is open when they have live music which is a great intimate setting to watch your favorite band.

Roscoe's Pioneer Bar: 323 West 1st Street, Duluth, MN

Roscoe's Pioneer Bar has been around since 2010 and is open at 11 am daily. They have received 4.3 out of 5 stars on Facebook and have been a long-established place for live music year-round and during homegrown.

Mr. D’s Bar and Grill: 5622 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN

Mr. D's is a popular hangout in West Duluth and one of the premier spots to see live music every weekend. A great place for lunch and dinner and they also have a banquet room with a private bar.

Cedar Lounge: 1715 North 3rd Street, Superior, WI

The Cedar Lounge is a popular place for craft beers, trivia, an outdoor patio, and is home to the Earth Rider's Brewery Taproom. A great place for live music both inside and outside.

The Breeze Inn: 5168 Jean Duluth Road, Duluth, MN

The Breeze Inn is located just outside the city limits of Duluth and was recently nominated best Twin Ports Bar and Grill. Amazing food in a cozy bar inside and deck with a fire pit outside. A full bar with 16 local and regional taps. The Breeze Inn has a regular schedule of live music indoors and outside on the deck weather permitting. The staff is top-notch and owners Kate and Shawn make everyone feel like family. Worth the trip for the food and atmosphere alone!

Bent Paddle Brewing Company: 1912 West Michigan Street, Duluth, MN

Bent Paddle Brewing Company is a 30-barrel production craft brewery and taproom that opened up in 2013. The taproom contains their marketplace along with some experimental versions of beer and some non-alcoholic options in this family-friendly taproom. They also have an indoor and outdoor space and a heated pet-friendly patio. You can enjoy many activities like trivia and also live music.

Foster's Sports Bar and Grill: 4767 West Arrowhead Road, Hermantown, MN

The home of the seven days a week happy hour and daily food specials, this is a great place to hang with friends and family and enjoy live music.

Jack's Place: 1923 Tower Avenue, Superior, WI

Jack's Place is a local tavern that opens at 6 am every day. They say they have the best beer garden in the Twin Ports with Live Music every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. They also have all sports packages.

Island Lake Inn: 7153 Rice Lake Road, Duluth, MN

Blacklist Brewing Company: 120 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN

Blacklist Brewing "specializes in Belgian-style artisan ales, with bold flavors, innovative ingredient selections, and refreshing ales that are sure to leave a lasting impression." They opened their Taproom in 2016 where you can enjoy live music.

Spirit Room: 1323 Broadway Street, Suite 100, Superior, WI

Spirit Room is a popular neighborhood bar serving craft beer, hand-crafted cocktails and mocktails too. Located in Superior's old city hall building. Make sure to check out their newly expanded outdoor seating area and live music.

Ursa Minor Brewing: 2415 West Superior Street Duluth, MN

Ursa Minor Brewing is located in the heart of the craft brewery district in Lincoln Park. They make small batches of craft beer in their taproom with wood-fired pizza. They have a year-round pet-friendly patio with live music every weekend, and also regular taproom events and games.

Pizza Luce: 11 East Superior Street, Duluth, MN

Pizza Luce in Duluth is one of 9 locations and the only one outside of the Twin Cities. They offer a wide variety of delicious food, cocktails, and craft beers along with an active live music scene.
