Along with the Polar Plunge on Park Point, there will be a Polar Plunge Frozen 5K Race, Saturday, February 15.

The race will start at 9 am on Minnesota Avenue near the Park Point Boat Ramp parking lot.

According to a City Of Duluth press release, the race will begin on Minnesota Avenue going North to a turnaround near 39th Street, then turn south on Minnesota Ave. to another turnaround near Sky Harbor Airport. After turning around near the airport, runners will run north to finish near the boat ramp parking lot.

Duluth Police say the traffic will be restricted between Minnesota Avenue between 39th Street and Sky Harbor Airport with the race is on. Once the racers pass, the roads will open up for traffic again. All the roads will open again around 10 am.

If you are a resident of Park Point you will be allowed access to your home when it becomes safe. Local Police will be present for directing traffic. If you leave Park Point or want to get to Park point for the Plunge later in the day should expect delays during the race times. If you don't want to watch the race, come after 10 am and you will be able to get to the Plunge at the end, but it is encouraged to park at Grandma's Sports Garden and take a bus in front of the establishment.
