2019 Duluth Polar Plunge Video and Photo Gallery
The events of the 2018 Duluth Polar Plunge have all been completed, and at the weekend's conclusion, over $140,000 was raised for Special Olympics of Minnesota. This year, the Duluth Plunge weekend featured two events; the main plunge on Saturday, and the second annual Cool School Plunge, which was held on Friday. The the 5K even, which has been held in years past, was cancelled this year due to conditions on the Lakewalk.
Between the events, estimated donations came in around $145,000 according to statistics on the Polar Plunge website. These numbers don't account for day-of funds raised and donation matches from businesses.
While temperatures hovered in the mid to upper teens for both Friday and Saturday's festivities, calmer wind conditions made for a more pleasant day for the main plunge than the breezier conditions on Friday for the Cool School Plunge.
As we have done for the past several years, we livestreamed the whole plunge on YouTube, and we're excited to share a recording of the plunge! You can see the whole plunge recording in the video at the top of the page, and you can also see photos from the day in the gallery below.
Thanks to everyone that participated in making this event a fun and successful event!
