Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson seem to be the tip of the ice berg lately with all the cheating and other charges. On Monday Johnny Manzel, the number one pick from Cleveland put himself in treatment. Everyone saw the signs coming, he parties all the time, doesn't show up to practice. He has to be commended for checking himself in, though.

Josh Gordon was suspended for violating the NFL substance abuse policy, for the third time. He needs to seek treatment. He is sending out the same cry for help that Johnny Manzel did. Now the new allegation, Kyle Shanahan wanted out because he claimed the team leadership was dysfunctional and multiple assistants were turning down the head coaching job.  An allegation by Mary Kay Cabot of the Northeast Ohio Media Group that General Manager Ray Farmer was texting in plays and suggestions, which is a major infraction in the communication protocol. When all is said and done, the Browns could wind up with fines and losing draft picks as well as suspensions.

The Atlanta Falcons have been investigated for using artificial crowd noise against opposing teams to create confusion and disrupt play calling. The owner Arthur Blank has already apologized and said that it is wrong and embarrassed by the actions and will accept any sanctions the NFL decide.

Colts safety Joe Lefeged was arrested for gun charges and so will Timothy Wilson. Plus, the Aaron Hernandez trial cranks up. Business Insider reported earlier this week that there have been 27 known instances of NFL players being arrested since the Super Bowl.  Click here for the full list.

So, is this just the beginning? I have noticed more and more that players in the off season are getting in trouble. Should something be done? Cris Carter, former Viking, has said on the ESPN Radio show Mike and Mike, that these players can be reached with large money sanctions and suspending them. When their money and their game are taken away then they will understand. If you ask me, if a player can not control himself, he should not have the right to play.
