If you've ever exceeded the speed limit while behind the wheel here in Minnesota, I'm just going to guess you weren't going as fast as THIS driver was.
The Cramer Tunnel, about 78 miles north of Duluth is the largest railroad tunnel in Minnesota measuring about 1,800 feet and has been abandoned since 2008.
Contrary to earlier reports, motorists will NOT see lane closures as the road construction project on Highway 61-London Road near the Lester River Bridge commence.
Motorists that use southbound Highway 61 into Duluth via London Road will have to use an alternate route or detour starting Wednesday August 8th.
MnDOT is alerting motorists that flood-related culvert work will start on that section of road - a project that is expected to last into late August...
