Superior, Wisconsin Man Starts Fundraiser For Niece Attacked By Dog
A little girl with ties to Superior was viciously attacked by a dog recently and her uncle has started a fundraiser to help her family with medical and other related recovery expenses.
Northland resident Craig Sutherland started the GoFundMe page this week, with the first entry describing what happened to his beautiful niece Harper:
1/17/2022 Harper was attacked by a dog so bad; she had to be life-flighted to Phoenix Children's Hospital. We do not know its severity, but it is an awful situation. We all know that this can and will add up fast, trips to the doctors, time off of work, and medical expenses. Let's crowdfund together and help offset these costs and help lower as much stress as we can in this situation. WE LOVE YOU HARPER!
The GoFundMe page for Harper then set an initial goal of $30,000 to help her and her family. Although there is still a significant amount of uncertainty on the recovery process, Craig did provide a promising update on Tuesday, January 18.
Well, Harper is out of surgery and is in recovery. Our family is thankful for every donation and share, this truly means the world. Harper is a strong little girl.
We don't know much as of yet, but we do know that she is in great hands in the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
As of January 19, there has been nearly $12,000 raised and donations are continuing to be made, so hopefully they can soon meet and then exceed the initial goal so that the family can put all of their focus squarely on little Harper and her recovery.
