Well, your a perfect family fun day is waiting for you just over a couple hours south the Twin Ports area.

Have you ever heard of the Shoreview Commons Destination Playground? Truth be told, I had never heard of it until a post from Minnesota Parent randomly appeared on my Facebook timeline this week and it looks like a blast!

The Shoreview Destination Playground is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. That's a nice big window for families to enjoy it. Even better, the playground is free for all to use.

As it's name would insinuate, the Shoreview Commons Destination Playground is located in Shoreview, Minnesota, which is a straight shot down I-35, around two hours away from the Twin Ports depending of course on exactly where you're starting from.

That's a fairly easy distance to cover for a day, or it could even be stop along the way if you have additional family plans in the area. Either way, it appears the kids will have plenty to do once you arrive.

You make it even more pocketbook friendly by packing lunches as there are picnic tables available on a first come, first served basis. A shelter is also a short walk away should a shower develop.

The comments from parents on the Minnesota Parents Facebook post confirm it's a great place and not just for little kids. Parents have commented that while the littler kids would mostly enjoy the most things found on the playground, there are other things to do there for older kids. One such example shared is they can bring gloves and balls to play catch. There's also an indoor pool and other things for the family to enjoy.
