St. Louis County Extension Office Presents A Living Off The Land Workshop On April 25
A lot of Northlanders plant gardens and many have thought about ways of improving their harvest. A presentation from the St. Louis County Extension office aims to help people get the skills and know-how they need to make that happen. As part of the two-part gardening series "Spring Gardening Extravaganza", a session on Living Off The Land: Your Edible Landscape has been planned for April 25 at the First United Methodist Church (the Coppertop Church). Check in starts at 4:45 PM and the actual session runs 5:30 to 8:45 PM.
At the session, you'll learn great gardening tips specifically tailored to our area by the experts: Bob Olen, Dr. Stephen Hedman, and Kendall Dykhuis.
The session on April 25 will include information about the following topics:
- Planting your edible landscape
- Heirloom, hybrid, and GMO seed: Implications for gardeners
- Soil testing and the new soil science
- Small fruits: strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries
- Update on the Spotted Winged Drosophila
- Top vegetable varieties
