The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota announced it annual walk and are looking for people to sign up early.

Rise Above Seizures Walk not only raises awareness of epilepsy but also gives support to people who have epilepsy. to raise awareness of epilepsy and support people with seizures. According to the Epilepsy Foundation's website, 1 in 26 people will be diagnosed with epilepsy in their lifetime, and one in 10 will have a seizure.

A total of five communities (Duluth, Fargo/Moorhead, Rochester, St. Cloud, and Twin Cities Metro) all do their own respective walk. Some on the same day, the Duluth Rise Above Seizures Walk will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 1st at the Park Point Pavilion & Beach House.

One thing that makes this walk a little different is you get to meet and see the people you are helping. They tell their story and tell you the help they get and how it's changed their lives. People understand how important the walk becomes and how important awareness is, and also the money helps the research. People feel like they are making a difference and they see real people being helped. People from their own community.
