The Saint Louis County Board is helping the Duluth Police Department solve the recent copper wire theft at the Haines Road construction project with a $5,000 reward.

The theft happened on March 11th at the site where road engineers are working to fix the damage done during the June 2012 flood.  Hammerlund Construction was working on the project and reported that 1,200 feet of wiring had been stolen.

The loss is estimated at $40,000.

Work hasn't been delayed because of the theft, but the Duluth Police Department is looking to solve the case.  Anyone with information is asked to call 218-730-5160.
