Duluth Police Raise Money for Special Olympics Minnesota with ‘Cop on Top’ Event [VIDEO]
In their ongoing support of Special Olympics Minnesota, members of the Duluth Police Department are holding a special fundraising event at the Duluth Dunkin Donuts on Central Entrance. The event started at 6:30 this morning, and goes through 12:30 this afternoon, with an officer on the roof (hence the name 'Cop on Top') as well as officers on the ground, collecting donations and raising awareness for Special Olympics and their events.
Anyone who stops by and makes a donation before 12:30 on Tuesday (October 25) will receive a free voucher for a medium iced or hot coffee, plus officers have been offering some free donut holes and hot chocolate as well for people that stop by.
This is one of a number of events the Duluth Police Department is part of as part of a support and fundraising campaign for Special Olympics Minnesota. The largest of these events is, of course, the Duluth Polar Plunge, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2017. Registration for teams is already open and fundraising tools are available to help your team raise money for this cause. You can learn more about the upcoming plunge here.
