The Oliver Bridge was closed for inspection on Wednesday, September 11.  Following that comes the announcement that the Oliver Bridge will be closed for railroad repairs on Thursday, September 12.  The information was released by the Minnesota Department of Transportation on behalf of the CN Railway.

According to information from MNDOT, the bridge will be closed from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The repairs are not expected to last longer than that time period, however the weather and unanticipated complications can always play a role in bridge work of this kind.

The announcement comes on the heels of the annual inspection done by CN Railway on September 11.

Meanwhile, work continues on the Minnesota-approach-side of the Oliver Bridge with a project that started earlier this summer. That work aims to improve the road surface; at the same time, the work will improve storm sewer drainage and also bring improvements to safety and accessibility concerns. That work is expected to be finished some point in October of 2019.
