MNDOT Inspections Affect Blatnik Bridge And 21st Avenue West Ramp At I-35
A series of annual inspections on the Blatnik Bridge and at the Can-Of-Worms Interchange will affect traffic over the new week or two.
Crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are already in place on the Blatnik Bridge - making their summer inspection of the roadway that connects Duluth and Superior. Traffic on the Blatnik Bridge has been restricted to 10-foot wide lanes on the Duluth-bound sideduring the daytime hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In addition, the speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH. Target date for the completion of this task is July 28.
In a similar inspection, MNDOT crews will be looking at the 21st Avenue West ramp at I-35 on August 4. The ramp that connects to the northbound lanes of I-35 will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on that date as part of an annual inspection process.
In both zones, drivers are urged to drive cautiously - and obey the signs.
