You may experince a slow down if crossing the Aerial Lift Bridge because traffic will be down to one lane for repairs.

Now that the shipping season is over for 2020, crews will begin working ten hour days in order to complete work in a speedy manor so that the delays don't last forever. Not many people are traveling to Park Point at this time because of weather and COVID has slowed down the volume of drivers too.

Traffic will be limited to one lane between the hours of 6 am to 4 pm. The other thing that will cause some disruptions to the people that live on Park Point is that the bridge will have to stay in the raised position for 20 minutes at a time.

So I would suggest you get there early to go over the bridge, or give yourself some time when you go home. If you are sightseeing, just know there will be delays. Traffic will only run for 15-20 minute intervals.

Don't think you will be able to do any walking over the bridge either. The portside walk will be closed the entire time they are working on the bridge so that they can store the materials they need to do the work on that side. Pedestrians are encouraged to be safe and be aware of the work being done, and to drive over and then walk if you want to take in the sights of Park Point.

To determine if the bridge is lifted or not, use your phone and visit the Duluth Harbor Cam Here.
