Living in the Northland you either embrace winter or you hide inside and get cabin fever.  Here's an event that's designed to get you outside, enjoying the beauty of our area - while potentially learning a new skill.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources invites winter enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to take part in a Winter Encounters Snowshoe Hike at Jay Cooke State Park, Saturday, January 27, starting at the River Inn Interpretive Center.  From 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, the group will embark on a trail trip through the woods to see what there is to encounter.

If you have your own snowshoes, you're asked to bring them.  If not, the program does have some adult and children sizes available.  Please call ahead to make arrangements:  218-673-7005.
