Following the end of his contract with the Minnesota Vikings, defensive end Jared Allen visited with a handful of teams around the league, and was expected to join either the Denver Broncos or Seattle Seahawks. This morning, the former Vikings sack machine officially found a home within the NFC North.

Allen will join the Chicago Bears after agreeing to a four-year deal with the team. This will be his third team, following six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after being acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The four-time Pro Bowler was tied for 7th in the NFL for sacks during 2013, earning 11.5 through the season. During his time with the Vikings, he set a single-season franchise sack record in 2011 and is 6th all time in career sacks with Minnesota.
