As the summer road construction season nears its winter end, a number of smaller (but nonetheless important) projects are ramping up to be completed.  One of those projects will affect drivers who use I-35 near Cody Street.

In order to allow for a drainage and concrete repair project, officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the ramp from Cody Street to southbound I-35/Highway 2 on Monday, September 17.  The actual closed area will impact the section of road just south of North 68th Avenue West.

MNDOT work crews will have a posted detour for drivers to follow.  That detour will direct vehicles east on Cody Street, south on North Central Avenue, and then left onto the I-35 freeway entrance ramp.

Agency officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation believe that the project will be finished by the end of the work day on Thursday, September 20.  However - as with most road construction projects - that timeline could be adjusted due to weather conditions.
