As the summer road construction season gears up into full swing - and - as work on the Twin Ports Interchange (Can of Worms) intersection project starts, drivers will encounter a variety of ramp and lane closures.  One of those ramp closures will happen on Monday, April 5 - in an area that's already restricted off.

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are working to get the word out that a routine bridge inspection will bring about a temporary ramp closure for the I-35 corridor in the Twin Ports.  According to details released by MNDOT, drivers can expect to see the ramp from southbound I-35 to southbound I-535 closed for inspection on Monday, April 5. The closure will occur during the daytime hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

In order to accommodate traffic through that area, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will have a signed detour in place.  The detour will direct drivers to the suggested route around the closure.

MNDOT's suggested timetable for the temporary ramp closure looks like it will be complete within the one day listed (April 5).  However, similar to any outdoor road construction project, the closure could be delayed or extended due to a variety of different conditions - including unforeseen conditions or the weather.
