With kids starting to get out of school this week, the Duluth Public Library has a busy schedule to give them a place to go.

Kids can enjoy a book challenge from the Duluth city council,  Squad car storytime, with the Duluth Police, things for teens, or cooking. All of these things to do are found at the Duluth Public Library online site.

Summer Reading Program Begins! It's Showtime at Your Library! Log your time spent reading, listening, and tracking activities. Earn badges, enter drawings to win prizes, and more! For all ages. Sign up starting June 3,

City Council Reading Challenge 
City Council Reading Challenge: Monday, June 3, through Monday, September 30, 2019, children entering kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to read the City Council’s favorite children’s books! Read at least 5 of the books to earn an invitation to a special celebration reception at City Hall on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Pick up a City Council Reading Tracker at any location or visit the website.

Wednesday, June 5 at Main Library – 520 West Superior Street
Squad Car Storytime – 3:45 – 4:15 pm: Join us for stories read by one of Duluth's police officers. Preschool age children. Meet in Youth Services.

Thursday, June 6 at Mt. Royal Branch Library – 105 Mt. Royal Shopping Circle
Vegan Cookbook Club – 11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Bring one or more vegan cookbooks and one or more recipes from the books that you have tried or would like to try. If possible, bring a few copies of the recipe to share. Also, bring your questions and discoveries about plant-based cooking and baking.

Thursday, June 6 at Main Library – 520 West Superior Street
Teen Scene – 4:00 – 6:00 pm: Messy art & water balloon games on the Plaza - prepare to get messy and wet! Teens in grades 6-12, join on the first Thursday of each month. Games, crafts, movies, book discussions and more. You choose what you want to do! Pizza will be served while it lasts.
