Duluth Public Library Summer Book Sale Returns June 24, 2021
The Friends of the Duluth Public Library will be hosting their annual book sale once again this year after having to cancel it in 2020. The book sale will look a little different this year as it will take place outside of the Main Public Library.
The sale begins June 24 at 10am on the Michigan Street Side of the Duluth Public Library. Organizers wanted people to feel comfortable and be able to space out with it being held outside. The sale will be under a tent so the event is rain or shine.
Proceeds from the sale go to the Duluth Library to help fund free events to the community. The library offers a lot of fun things for kids, teens, and adults including reading programs, crafts, storytimes, Kaleidoscope events, and more.
This is a chance for you to build your own library with books for everone. They'll have hardcover, paperbacks, fiction, nonfiction, classics, large print books, and more. They'll also have children's books, toys, games, and audio books on disc.
Some of the books come from the library, but most of them are donated throughout the year to the library. In some cases donors will give the library their collection and use it as a tax deduction. It works out perfectly as the library gets much needed funds, the donor gets a tax write off, and someone gets a new book at a much reduced price.
The Summer Book Sale happens Thursday, June 24 from 10am-6pm on the Michigan Street side of the Main Library.
