Oh boy.

The new hands-free driving law has been in effect since August 1st. In case you aren't up to speed, it is now illegal to touch your phone in the state of Minnesota while driving.

Now, halfway through the month and two weeks into the new driving rules, the Minnesota State Patrol is updating us on how many tickets they've given away in that time.

They took to Twitter to update Minnesota residents. Here's what they had to say:

Come on, people! This is the law after all.

Just one week after the law went into effect, they offered statistics on how many tickets and citations they had given out. At that time, they had given out 500 citations and warnings.

If you still aren't familiar with the hands-free law, you can learn more about it here.

On the very first day of August, a Minnesotan was pulled over for texting her friend - about the new law. Sigh.
