It's full-speed ahead for plans to re-do the heavily-traveled Can of Worms intersection that connects the north and southbound lanes of I-35 with Arlington Avenue, the Blatnik Bridge, and Highway 53.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation currently has the project on a timeline to begin next year (2019) and be complete by 2023.  In the lead-up to the work, MNDOT is holding a series of public meetings to solicit input from and broadcast information to the general public.

The next set of these public meetings are coming up on Monday, July 30.  Two meetings with identical content will be held on that day at Clyde Iron Works:  2920 West Michigan Street in Duluth.  The first session runs from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM - with the actual presentation at 11:45 AM.  The second session runs from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM - with the presentation at 6:15 PM.

When the work is finished, drivers should anticipate an entirely different experience than what currently exists at the intersection.  Improved visibility, convenience, and safety issues will be addressed.
