Fundraiser Started For Family Of Wisconsin Teen Siblings Killed in Minnesota Crash
Tragedy struck the Northland over Thanksgiving weekend when a car crash in Carlton County took the lives of a Wisconsin brother and sister.
According to our media partners at WDIO-TV, the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a fatal crash near Holyoke in Carlton County around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26. After investigating, they say a Volvo station wagon was Southbound on Highway 23 when it approached a curve. Road conditions were icy, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which went off the highway and came to a stop in a ditch.
Killed in the crash were the driver, 19-year old Kaden James Tuura, and his passenger, 14-year-old Aubrey Suzzanne Tuura. The Minnesota State Patrol said they were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and the car’s airbags did not go off.
Now, a friend of the family has started a GoFundMe page to help the family through this unimaginably difficult time:
I am sharing this story with you in hopes you will be able to help my friends Stacy and Cory during this most difficult of times.
Stacy's two oldest children, Kaden and Aubrey were involved in a fatal car accident on Friday, November 25th. Stacy received news no parent should ever have to hear for one child, much less two.
Monies raised will help the family with the unthinkable expense of a funeral and time away from work to deal with the tragic loss.
The GoFundMe page was started with an initial goal of raising $25,000.
As of Monday night, there had been just over $13,000 raised in support of the family.
