20 Most Dangerous Intersections In Duluth During The Winter

Winter in Duluth leads to some particularly challenging travel situations. The steep hills mixed with snow and ice make for difficult and dangerous situations. I reached out to the Duluth Police Department to find out the most dangerous intersections in Duluth.

This information I got includes car crashes from 11/1/2020 through 4/30/2021. I will say that two ramps from the can of worms were left of the list since they currently don't exist anymore.  Check out the list below to see which intersections have seen the most car accidents and are deemed dangerous:

20 Most Dangerous Intersections In Duluth During The Winter

1600 Miller Trunk Highway

Coming in with the most reported accidents in the winter is the intersection near the mall with 18 accidents.

Mall Drive & West Central Entrance

The intersection near Cub Foods had 10 reported accidents.

Central Entrance & Mesaba Avenue

My car once died at this intersection during rush hour and it was not good. 9 reported accidents happened here (don't worry, my car dying was not an accident statistic for this).

257 Mile & I-35

The off ramp going south bound on I-35 also had 9 reported accidents.

South 27th Ave West Ramp (North Bound)

The on ramp going north bound also had 9 reported accidents.

West Arrowhead & Kenwood Avenue

Out east near the Crooked Pint and Walgreens had 6 reported accidents.

I-35 North Central Avenue

Busy intersection leading to the Interstate and coming off the Interstate had 6 reported accidents.

Cody Street & I-35

Heading southbound towards Proctor had 6 reported accidents.

5300 Bristol Street

Coming out of the SuperOne parking lot in West Duluth had 6 reported accidents.

1902 Miller Trunk Highway

Be careful coming out of the Target parking lot with 6 reported accidents.

Arlington & Central Entrance

The intersection between Caribou Coffee and Kwik Trip had 5 reported accidents.

South Arlington & Trinity Road

The intersection by Lake Superior College had 5 reported accidents.

Mesaba & West 1st Street

This busy intersection had 5 reported accidents.

1001 East Superior Street

A busy intersection downtown racked up 5 reported accidents.

2715 W Michigan Street

Over in the Lincoln Park area, the intersection by Kwik Trip and 27 Liquor had 5 reported accidents.

40th Avenue West Ramp (South Bound)

The south bound ramp on 40th had 5 reported accidents.

1724 Mall Drive

Another parking lot on the list. This time is Aldi's with 5 reported accidents.

Mall Plaza & Burning Tree Road

The intersection near Best Buy and SuperOne by the mall had 5 reported accidents.

Miller Trunk Highway & Trinity Road

The busy intersection near Walgreens and the mall Perkins had 5 reported accidents.

1101 Mall Drive

Whether you're coming from Texas Roadhouse, Home Depot or the Olive Garden, be careful as there was 5 reported accidents at this intersection
