Fundraiser Established For Cloquet Baby Born Prematurely
No one should have to confront the realities of a baby born prematurely alone. That's the reason that many Northlanders are coming together to help a family in need.
Beau Worgren - son to Cloquet residents Roxanne Wood and her finance Ryan Worgren - was born prematurely in June. Beau was born at 26 weeks, weighing only 1 pound, 2 ounces and only 10 1/4 inches long. The doctors diagnosed him with IUGR, interuterine growth restriction. Due to the issue, Beau was no longer getting the nutrients he needed from his mom's placenta. Medical experts quickly determined that he needed to leave the womb for care.
Doctors in Duluth performed a C-section, and then Beau was life-flighted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis due to a tear in his intestines. An initial surgery was performed, but he will also need more in the future - along with continued medical care.
Family members have organized a Go Fund Me fundraiser to provide financial help for Beau's ongoing medical needs. Click here to learn more about Beau's story and to donate.
