The first day of fall is officially Thursday, September 22, but you don't have to wait until then to start your fall traditions, such as picking out pumpkins, fall crafts and more.

A perfect place in Duluth to do just that is the Farmer Doug Pumpkin Patch and it's about to open for the season, but only on weekends and only for a limited time.

They announced this week on their official Facebook page that the Farmer Doug Pumpkin Patch would be first be open on Friday, September 16. It would then continue to open on weekends through Sunday, October 2.

According to their post, they will have a variety of things available:

Lots of BIG pumpkins and small pumpkins. Orange. White. Green. Blue. Pink. Flat. Round. You name it we have it. Winter squash in abundance. Bouquets. Crafts. Even some veggies.

The Farmer Doug Pumpkin Patch will officially be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each Friday, Saturday and Sunday for three consecutive weekends. It is located at 3361 Lindahl Road in Duluth.

They promise "photo opportunities galore", so it's the perfect place to bring the entire family. You might just get the perfect picture to add to this years Christmas card!

Speaking of Christmas, keep in the back of your mind that in November, Farmer Doug offers a 'Fresh Cut Tree Schedule'. It's another terrific opportunity to get the family out to cut down your own Christmas tree.

They will also have their trees available to purchase closer to the holidays at the Duluth Farmers' Market. In years past, they have been open weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
