Best Places to Get Pumpkins for Your Halloween Jack-O-Lantern in the Duluth / Superior Area
One of the staples of fall and the Halloween season is picking out that perfect pumpkin to carve, or even to just put out for decoration. Where does one look for the best pumpkin picking around Duluth, Superior, and beyond? Here are three suggestions, some more simple, and others more extravagant.
The Pumpkin Train
North Shore Scenic RailroadWhy not take the train to pick out a pumpkin? All aboard the North Shore Scenic Railroad as they head off to their secret pumpkin patch. Load up the family for a train ride, entertainment, and picking out that all-important pumpkin. Their 2018 schedule is October 18, 19, 20, and 21 with departure times from 10 am to 3:50 pm. Simek's Farm
Just west of Cotton (NW of Duluth) lies a full fall farm adventure at Simek's Farm (directions). You could easily make a day of family fun out of a trip up to the farm, complete with corn maze, farm animals, and activity yard, giant silo slide, hayrides, and more. Engwalls Corn Maze
Engwalls Garden Center will be selling pumpkins through the season for those who enjoy a simple and traditional pumpkin pick. If you want more to your pumpkin mission, Engwalls will be featuring a corn maze at their location in Hermantown along with a corn cannon, and much more. The maze is open for the season on September 15, 2018 with a corn maze festival scheduled for October 20th. Learn more here.
