The Duluth Huskies are still making moves toward playing baseball and today signed a hitting coach.

The Duluth Huskies website says Jeffrey Chapuran is a southerner, so it might be a little bit of a change. Chapuran comes to the Duluth Huskies by way of the Pilots of LSU-Shreveport. Another story about the reputation of the Northwoods League and the strength of the Duluth Huskies baseball team.

Jeff has been successful his whole career and says it's because he forms relationships with the players and gains their trust while helping them to hit better. He says when you can talk one on the one you can relax the players and get to the core of the problem to make them successful. The Huskies website also said he has worked with infielders, so he should be a great addition to the team.

The Huskies website says his former boss, SUS Pilots Head Coach Brad Neffendorf says  Coach Chapuran has been a part of multiple winning programs. Jeff, as a coach, has been a part of a state championship and a national championship. He also went on to say how much he likes Jeff's energy and it is part of how he connects with a team.

On the Huskies website, Coach Chapuran says he spent quality time with his family in Kentucky. He said he enjoyed the time to recharge from coaching. He said baseball programs all over the nation were stopped and had to quarantine. He says he's looking forward to getting out there again and likes the business plan for COVID that the Huskies have laid out.
