Details Announced For Rock The Park 2022 In West Duluth
The weather is warming up and outdoor events are beginning to pop up. A concert event coming to west Duluth will provide fun for the whole family and will be all for a good cause.
Memorial Park (corner of Grand Avenue and Ellinor Street) in west Duluth will be the home for Rock The Park 2022 on Saturday June 18th. Cost for the event is $10, however kids are free.
Profits from the concert will go towards Valley Youth Centers. The VYC is an after school and summer youth program that serves kids ages 5 and up in the west Duluth area. They provide tutoring to help kids with homework, and also provide mentoring, leadership and recreational activities to strengthen kids' physical health.
According to the flyer, there will be a kids carnival from 11:00am - 6:00 pm that will include:
- Bounce houses and games
- Food
- Vendors
- Ventriloquist Jeremy LePack
For the concert side of things, gates open at 10:00 am and the acts include:
- 10:30am - 11:15am Mark & Hewitt
- 11:30am - 12:45pm Tommy Wotruba
- 1:00pm - 2:00pm Whiskey Trail
- 2:30pm - 4:00pm BoomStick
- 4:15pm - 5:30pm Sydney Hansen
- 6:00pm - 7:30 Virgil Caine
- 8:00pm - 10:00pm AfterShock (headliner)
The event goes until 10:00pm and there will even be a beer garden sponsored by Players Sports Bar. It is also noted that you should bring your own chair to sit in. The MC of the evening will be Duluth's own comedian Dan Hinnenkamp and his wife Elizabeth. Check out a clip of Dan's stand up from 2019 below:
Don't forget, there is a big difference between west Duluth and west end (Lincoln Park).
