As National Nurses Week 2020 wraps up, a Wisconsin-based fast food chain is donating meals to some local Twin Ports-area healthcare facilities to show their appreciation. The local owners of the Duluth, Two Harbors, and Ashland Culvers restaurants have arranged to deliver combo basket meals with their compliments.

The food will arrive for 100 St. Luke's-Duluth workers on May 12, 70 meals for the Lake View Hospital and Medical Clinic in Two Harbors, and 31 baskets for the St. Luke's Chequamegon Clinic in Ashland on May 15.

A Wisconsin business based out of Sauk Rapids, Culvers operates more than 740 restaurants throughout the country.  They specialize in "good food fast" - with an emphasis on freshly-made hamburgers, hand-battered fish, Wisconsin-sourced cheese curds, and their special recipe root beer.

A regional health care system, St. Luke's operates a variety of medical facilities throughout northeastern Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Locally, St. Luke's has a "multi-specialty" hospital in Duluth, a "critical access" hospital in Two Harbors, and more than 40 clinic locations.

National Nurses Week 2020 happened May 6 through May 12, but in reality we're always thankful and proud of the job that healthcare professionals do for us - especially in times like these.
