The City of Duluth is advising motorists about some project work that is set to start on Congdon Boulevard.

Starting June 22, traffic on Congdon Boulevard will be detoured to an alternate route between 7801 Congdon to 90th avenue east.  The detour route will take drivers from Lakewood Road to McQuade Road.

Workers will be repairing the retaining wall between the boulevard and the shoreline as a result of slope, storm pipe, and guardrail failures tied to the June 2012 flood.

The work will take the remainder of the summer, pausing on September 17, 2015 for the winter season.  Additional work is expected to be performed on the same area in 2016 to include pavement reclamation, re-paving, slope repairs, and the guardrail improvements.
