The endless road construction project on the Blatnik Bridge continues as Department Of Transportation officials get ready to switch sides.

Starting Monday August 27th, drivers heading to Superior, Wisconsin from Duluth, Minnesota will be directed to take the Bong Bridge as an alternate route.  At the same time, the lanes on the other side of the bridge will re-open, allowing drivers to use the Blatnik Bridge when heading from Superior to Duluth.

Officially, the current project started this year and is expected to linger into the 2013 construction season.  However, Twin Ports drivers will recognize that there has been a seemingly never-ending project on both of the main bridges that service the area.

Work on the Blatnik Bridge is expected to end for the season on October 19th, although some painting may continue on the span after that time.
