A two-year project to reconstruct Belknap Street will finally kick off this upcoming spring, following a one year delay.  The summers of 2017 and 2018 will see major upheavals in traffic patterns and routes as one of the main routes in the City of Superior is rebuilt.

The general public is invited to learn more about the plans and the schedule during an open meeting on Thursday, November 3.  Two meetings are planned for that day - one at 7:30 AM and one at 5:00 PM - both in Room C108 at the WITC Conference Center.

Attendees will get the chance to see renderings, learn about the schedule, detours, access, local traffic plans, and the construction staging.  Due to the high-volume of traffic on the roadway and the arterial-nature of Belknap, work crews have planned to perform the work in various stages throughout the two year project arc.

Members of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the City of Superior, and members of the Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to field questions.
