One of the longer (in miles, anyway) road construction projects has wrapped up for the summer.  The 27-mile stretch from the City of Orr to Crane Lake in northern St. Louis County is open and the orange cones have been removed - at least until next spring.

All told, the project consumed two different highways:  Highway 23 and Highway 24 - and together cost $7.5 million.  Funds were provided by Federal Transportation budget dollars and the Transportation Sales Tax.

While the roadway is open for the winter and is primarily finished, road crews will have to be back next spring to chip seal the roadway.
