It just goes on and on doesn't it? According to a posting in Madison.com, state consumer officials are warning residents about a new phone scam, this time using the BadgerCare Plus health care program.

People in the Fox River Valley have been called by scammers who are using the health program to get bank account information from the victims, the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection said in a news release.

"The BadgerCare Plus members were told they were eligible for a $200 stipend from the state, and were asked for their bank account information in order to make the deposit," the release said.

"When the call recipients refused to turn over that information, the calls were disconnected."
