Year Three For The I-35 Mega Project In Duluth
It was only supposed to last two years. Then, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton shut down operations last summer over the budget impasse; Those four weeks of idling orange cones has dragged the I-35 Mega Project in the Twin Ports into Year Three.
Get ready for more delays as the work in the Duluth area resumes on May 9th.
Specifically:
Wednesday, May 9
I-35 will be restricted to a single lane in each direction from mile marker 211 to mile marker 221 between Moose Lake and Barnum.
Friday, May 11
Northbound I-35 will be restricted to a single lane from mile marker 190 to mile marker 202 between Sandstone and Willow River.
MnDOT officials have listed "later this year" as a target-date for completion.
