Valentine's Day might be a few months away but romance is top of mind, thanks to a new study that just revealed the best cities to be single in.

The study was dropped by WalletHub on Monday (November 29th). The site always does strange and interesting studies and this one definitely falls on that list! They named the best and worst places for singles out of all the cities in the United States.

Previous studies in which Wisconsin has made the cut include one that I felt bad even writing about: the grossest states in the country, where Wisconsin topped the list. I am still sorry about that one, Wisconsin.

Most recently, Minnesota was named one of the safest states in the country, which is a whole lot better than that previous study I just mentioned. Now, Wisconsin is finally getting the credit it deserves.

Wisconsin was just named one of the best places to live if you are single. Madison, Wisconsin was named the number one best place to be if you're single, making Wisconsin the title holder for this one.

There were many metrics that went into the study, including the percentage of singles in each state, how many online dating opportunities are available, prices of beer and wine, movie costs, among other statistics.

While Wisconsin didn't thrive in any of these areas, Madison did well enough to land at the top spot on the list, so they must have done something right! Milwaukee also didn't do too shabby, cracking the top seventy on the list.

Around Valentine's Day last year, Wisconsin was named one of the best states for single people, with the state as a whole coming in at number eight. At that time, WalletHub used similar statistics to come to their conclusion.

On the other hand, a study came out this year around Valentine's Day that said it really wasn't easy for single men to find a date in Wisconsin! What gives? That study, which was done by Zippia.com, looked at things like how many people still lived with their parents and the ratio of men to women.

You win some, you lose some. Wisconsin has topped some of these lists and also come in at the bottom of some lists. For now, we can celebrate the win that is a Wisconsin city being named one of the best places for single people.

As for Minnesota, Minneapolis cracked the top ten, coming in at number seven. St. Paul came it at number forty-nine. As a Minnesotan, I will gladly give this title to Wisconsin. Ha! Go get a date, people.

Just because you know you are curious, some of the worst places to be single, according to this list, are cities in California, Texas and Florida.
