As winter gives way to spring in the Twin Ports, hundreds of orange dots have appeared on boulevard trees in Superior.  In some neighborhoods, seemingly every tree has an orange dot on it.  So what does it mean?

The orange dots were placed there by city employees from the Public Words Department - in advance of them being cut down.  The trees that have been marked are Ash trees.

Last summer, the Emerald Ash Borer was discovered within the city limits;  The worm is fatal to Ash trees and experts predict that the entire population of Ash trees in Superior will be lost within 5 to 8 years.

As massive eradication plan was established by the city to rid public lands (I.E. - parks and boulevards) of them,
