It looks like an early fall, at least around my home, and that led me to wonder about the approaching winter season. I spoke with  a meterologist, and asked. The response was basically it's a fight between El Nino and El Nina. Whoever wins, determines the winter weather.

I also contacted a few farmers. Having lived in several states where farming is a major industry, I realized many years ago that they have a good sense, or feel if you will, when it comes to forecasting weather. The overall response from them was" it's going to be a rough winter."

So who do you believe, the meteorologists, or farmers? I'll put my money on the farmers every time. Their crop depends on the weather year round, after all, it's their livelihood.
