Taxes Are Hard, You Might Qualify For A Free Tax Service

Tax season is here again, and some people have some odd things that pop up when doing taxes. They can't afford the latest software, or hire someone.  There is a free tax site available through the Community Action Duluth.

If you qualify, there is a free tax site available. To be eligible, you can't make more than $51,000 in 2013. A team of trained volunteers who understand your needs will prepare your taxes and you’ll never be charged any fees or interest.

To be eligible your household tax year 2013 income can be up to $51,000. If you are interested contact Community Action Duluth, the free service starts on Tuesday, January 28th and will continue through April 15th.

This year at Community Action Duluth office, there are two evenings of walk-in preparation , and Saturday mornings for all eligible taxpayers. Doors open Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 4:30 and at 8:45 am on Saturdays, and are located at the former Lincoln Park Elementary School, 2424 W 5th St. There are two other locations, the Ordean Building location which is served by appointment on Thursdays starting at 10:00 am and open to all eligible taxpayers and Laura MacArthur School, by appointment on Mondays starting at 4:30 pm for taxpayers with dependents, senior citizens and people with disabilities.
