More and more we've been hearing about AMC's efforts to expand their broadcasting slate, both with the addition of new reality series like 'Freakshow' and 'Immortalized,' as well as the wealth of new dramatic and comedic pilots being put through development to fill the slots of departing series like 'Breaking Bad' and 'Mad Men.' We've certainly kept our eye on Revolutionary War pilot 'Turn,' which today has cast two new leads in Australian newcomers Meegan Warner and Daniel Henshall, but who will they play? Will the drama attract any other recognizable names before its debut?
Like his co-star Gary Coleman before him, Conrad Bain, one of TV's most beloved icons, has sadly passed on. The long-time star of legendary TV sitcom 'Diff'rent Strokes' is reported to have died this week of unknown causes at the age of 89. No details of Bain's death have been released to the public as of yet.
Well, we figured that Kelsey Grammer would need to find something to do after Starz opted not to go through with a third season of political drama 'Boss,' but this isn't exactly what we had in mind. According to new reports, unusually-matched celebrities Grammer and 'Big Momma's House' star Martin Lawrence are looking into the possibility of developing a sitcom together with Lionsgate TV, but what could the series possibly portray? And what might it have to do with FX's 'Anger Management?'
If you're a Christmas fan, then you know that TV plays a large part in the Christmas experience. It's just a fact. Whether you're a Rankin-Bass traditionalist (hello, 'Rudolph's Shiny New Year') or a Grinch-head (you're a mean one!) or you just like generic sitcoms with Christmas subplots, Christmas TV is a holiday must.
Before there was Ghost Hunters, before there was Paranormal Witness, or any other show. There was a show on MTV that started the ghost revolution, and the discussion of Paranormal.
If you thought the idea of rebooting 'The Munsters' for modern times was stupid, you're in luck. NBC looks to be pulling the plug on 'Mockingbird Lane,' which was mostly cast and which played a four minute sizzle reel at Comic Con 2012.
With every passing year on the TV landscape, it feels more and more like original ideas are becoming a rarity in favor of re-hashing existing properties. Yet, for every potential 'Fame' reboot we hear about, one actually sounds ripe for a re-imagining. We mean, if 'Fargo' were to come to TV as an episodic series, don't you think you'd check it out? Oh boy, you betcha! But how far along is the deal, and who's involved from the original film?
Could Mork be headed back to Earth? It seems Robin Williams’ bite from the TV acting bug might have been bigger than his recent ‘Louie‘ and ‘Wilfred‘ appearances, as the legendary funnyman may have his eye on a new gig at CBS. But what could have lured Williams back to a regular role after over 30 years off the tube, and why does the project have ‘Mad Men‘s Don Draper feeling a shiver up his spine?
Just in time for Comic-Con, CBS has released the full schedule of their fall premiere dates, including favorites like ‘Survivor,’ ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ and ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ and newcomers like ‘Vegas’ and the second season of ’2 Broke Girls.’
George Lindsey, best known for his portrayal as the dense but gentle “Goober Pyle” on ‘The Andy Griffith Show,’ has died after suffering from a brief illness. He was 83 years old.
Boy, that Vince Vaughn sure has his plate full these days, and we’re not talking about craft services (okay, probably that too.) Between re-teaming with ‘Wedding Crashers’ star Owen Wilson for ‘The Internship,’ potentially taking on ‘The Rockford Files,’ and developing an FX dominatrix drama, just how will he manage to cram in a new ABC sitcom with Tony Danza? And which of them will be the boss?
